Featured Customer: Real Pickles
Real Pickles is a worker co-operative working to change the food system by making pickles! Real Pickles launched in 2001 and transitioned to a worker co-operative in 2013 — now celebrating over ten years of supporting local ownership and workplace democracy. Their pickles and other products are 100% organic, naturally fermented, and raw plant-based food.
Atlas Farm has grown a number of crops for Real Pickles over the years, with a particular focus on green cabbage, red cabbage, and Napa cabbage for kraut and kimchi. We’re proud to partner with these picklers!
Spring on the Farm
In spring, the greenhouse is the hub of the farm. The greenhouse crew is hard at work seeding and tending to the plant starts that will produce our summer and fall crops. By early April, we’re planting lettuce and greens in the field. And greenhouse tomatoes and basil give us a head start on the growing season — ready for harvest in late May.
We hope you’re as excited for the 2025 season as we are! If you have a restaurant, store, or CSA and want to become a wholesale customer, please contact us — or look for our products through local distributors like Marty’s Local, Myers Produce, and Food Connects.
Retail customers can find Atlas Farm produce year-round at the Atlas Farm Store in South Deerfield, and at other local stores like River Valley Co-op Northampton & Easthampton, Green Fields Market, and Whole Foods Hadley. No matter where you shop, purchasing local produce supports small farms and the people who work here. Thank you!
