We know you're excited to get planting — so are we! — but keep in mind that we're not yet out of the wintry woods. The low temperature tomorrow night is predicted to be 22ºF — and that's down here in the balmy valley. So keep a close eye on the forecast over the next couple weeks, and have a plan for covering tender seedlings or bringing them indoors when a frost is expected.

Have a question about plant starts? Give us a call at (413) 397-3587 or send us an email. We'd love to help you get your garden up and growing.

In celebration of spring, we're running a special on local eggs: save 25% this week! Beyond breakfast, eggs can be used for a fun, all-natural Easter craft. Check out these instructions for dyeing eggs with onion skins, red cabbage, turmeric, and more: "How to Make Naturally Dyed Easter Eggs."

The Farm Store's current egg vendors are Maple Meadow Farm, a cage-free and antibiotic-free egg producer in Salisbury, Vermont; and Wingate Farm, a small woman-owned farm in Hinsdale, New Hampshire. Wingate Farm's laying hens spend the spring, summer, and fall grazing on lush green pasture, from which they get 10-20% of their nutritional needs. The rest of their feed is certified organic and 100% GMO-free.

Last but not least, a reminder that Atlas Farm is still hiring for the 2021 season! In particular, we're seeking experienced folks to fill the Seasonal Equipment Operator and Packinghouse Manager positions. Know someone who might be a good fit? Please help us spread the word and share our current job openings.

See you soon,
Rosemary
& the Atlas Farm crew
